Our story

Safe children, strong families, connected communities.

Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) supports families and communities across New Zealand. We work in a way that focuses on strengths, positive outcomes and giving people the skills to resolve problems themselves.

FDR is just one of many services offered by Family Works. By providing a wide range of professional support, we can address any number of challenges you and your family might face – from early intervention and prevention, to intensive casework and social services.

Our vision is to make Aotearoa New Zealand the best place in the world to grow up – a place where all children are safe, whānau are strong and communities are connected.

SAFE means children and young people feel secure and protected.

STRONG means families have the resources and skills to face life’s challenges.

CONNECTED means people feel supported and included in their communities.

We do this by building on the strengths, skills and resources individuals and their whānau have, by taking a whole-of-family approach and by tailoring our services to meet the needs of the individual and their whānau.

Our multi-disciplinary team are not only qualified and experienced but also respectful, approachable and non-judgemental.
